Wool's eco benefits
Environment
• Being a natural product, with no toxic substances used throughout its processing, the selection of wools employed in our products is considered both hypoallergenic and ecologically sound. 100% bio degradable and recyclable
• Airborne contaminants constitute a recognized health hazard in sealed home & office environments the use of wool can provide a natural and effective solution to this problem in these environs.
• Low thermal conductivity is another recognized advantage, which imparts the characteristic sensation of warmth in cold temperatures and of coolness under hotter ambient conditions.
• Wool contributes to the comfort of the indoor environment by operating as a constant regulator of humidity in the atmosphere, absorbing up to one third of its own weight without feeling wet. Plus, no static electriciticity ... like realized from synthetic materials.
• This enhanced absorption characteristic not only does away with the clamminess associated with synthetic materials, but also promotes better air quality by filtering out certain harmful pollutants.

Durability
• Wool is extremely hardwearing, due to the resilience of the natural fibre and its high strength to fineness ratio, it delivers superior value for money measured in performance years.
• The individual fibres are springy and not easily crushed or flattened, which provides excellent appearance retention, avoiding the cheap and shiny look even after years of hard wear.
• These fibers have a high coefficient of friction, which allows them to grasp each other securely, bringing good tear strength, dimensional stability and seam security to the upholstery.
• Wool is also inherently resistant to dust and grime, but if stained has good soil-release properties and will clean easily using the recommended forms of treatment.

Creativity
• A feature of wool is its ready propensity to absorb dyestuff, which makes for the widest possible range of color options, in rich or delicate shadings, for all interior design requirements.
• It also readily blends with a wide range of secondary fibers, which can thereby impart customized performance or appearance characteristics to meet specific user requirements.
• Our fabrics can be engineered to meet fitness-for purpose criteria in sectors such as office seating, which require performance levels in excess of normal residential standards.

Safety
• Wool is naturally flame resistant as a material, and can be treated using IWS process technology to comply with the most demanding flame retardancy and smoke emission standards.
• Difficult to ignite and with low flame spread and heat release properties, its fibers stand up to cigarette burns, and scorch marks can usually be removed by simply rubbing the affected area.
• In the contract interior environment, where operations, communications and security increasingly depend on electronics, its inherent anti-static properties represent a form of insurance policy. Electrical discharges from the human body and the fabrics with which it is in contact can not only disrupt electronic circuits, but also have the potential to ignite flammable atmospheres.
